Restoring our Spiritual Passion
Hello church! Here's my first blog on Influence:
Thoughts to Ponder:
2007 brings an opportunity for a brand new fresh start for all of us. We are called to be disciples of Christ. As with the first disciples Jesus desires all of us to develop spiritual disciplines which will enable us to become Christ-like so we can be true change agents and influence our world. In the first century these disciples were able to change their known world upside down as they applied Christ’s disciplines and power to influence their world. This year we also have an opportunity to evaluate our spiritual lives and apply God’s power so we can change our world upside down as well.
The first step is what we talked about this weekend: Making sure that we have our spiritual cutting edge restored and in place. Let this be the year that we fall in love with Jesus all over again.
Revelation 2:4-5—The love you had at first is gone. Remember how far you have fallen. Return to Me and change the way you think and act, and do what you did at first. (GW)
1. Remember
2. Repent
3. Return
4. Repeat
Action Items:
1. Pray for 15 minutes asking God to reveal the areas that you need to change and the areas that you need to implement this year.
2. Write these down and begin journaling what God tells you day by day and week by week.
3. Read James 1:21-27
4. Read Psalm 84
5. Choose your fasting days and methods that you will use this week.
a. One, two, or three days.
b. Fasting television, outside distracting activities, or other areas that you might find feasible to do without as you seek God this week.
c. Juice, one meal a day, meat etc.
Encouragement from the Word:
Psalm 121:5-8—God Himself is caring for you! He is your defender. He protects you day and night. He keeps you from all evil, and preserves your life. He keeps his eye upon you as you come and go, and always guards you. (TLB)

thank you Pastor Ken for your inspired effort to lead us in this way ... I'll be encouraging others, that are and have been linked with our congregation, to get connected through this media and to consider participation in the Catalyst Conference

Last sunday's teaching made the list of the most convicting teachings I've recieved from Pastor Ken. What grubbed my attention was the blatant answer to the question 'have you ever been at a higher level of Spirituality than you are today?' if yes, then you're sluggg.
Thank you very much Pastor Ken. Now I have to pray more, even for people I don't want to pray for. People who've wronged me. People I'd rather kick around than pray for.
I have to call a brother in the church whom I was sitting behind when I noticed that he wrote down a need for money to rent a moving truck. I got convicted to write his number down and call him to offer assistance but, what did I do? I just let the conviction go away and kept the money instead. Yes, pastor Ken, I'm walking around with money that doesn't belong to me in my wallet. I better give it to it's rightful owner (God) before someone else (McDonald) gets a hold of it.
God bless you Pastor Ken.
The other message was in November right before I went over seas. You asked me to examine myself and my prioritites. If my first priority is me, then I need to do something about selfishness. I went to the store and bought 100 articles of clothing to take to Africa.
I gave two pieces to each and every one of my fourty immediate relatives and the rest to pastors.
I like your messages but everytime I listen I end up emptying my pockets.
Thanks to you, I always get my hundred fold back.
I guy in Africa spent time and a lot of money to take me and my whole group to a place I'd never have gone.
Again, God bless you Pastor Ken and keep on bringing the messages.
I wanted to let you know that the message that was preached was outstanding. I know that it will help in my spiritual walk. I also wanted to mention thank you for giving me the 23rd Psalm DVD collection that you gave me. It just so happens that my wife is still working shift work in law enforcement and has not had an opportunity to go to church for awhile, and we are watching these DVD's together. THanks again
